Well, I'll be damned, it's that time again already?!
Third installment of Archival Symmetries*... I thought I'd forgo the archive this month and highlight some recent demos made since opting out of Brooklyn for a more rural agenda this past August. 'Horn of Deafening' is the third installment of the running Guantanamo Patchbay series.
"Wait... 3?" you ask. Well, Vol. 2 was originally scheduled for this month, but i caved to aligning the 3rd Archival Symmetry with the 3rd Patchbay for maximum symmetries at all costs. So that one will drop sometime in 2016 (maybe 2/2 for consistency's sake).
Guantanamo Patchbay is an ongoing series of demo-dumps that don't ascribe to any overarching narrative other than 'tinkerings bore of modular origins'.
Volume 3 showcases a collection of tracks yielded from a single open-ended Bugbrand patch I've been wood-shedding for the past couple of months. The patch took shape over a short New England tour with thee ever-mystifying Sugarm and felt kinda too good to let go.
To tell the truth, I've historically poo-poo'd the idea of keeping any patch in place for an extended period, preferring a fresh start every time, but this one ultimately proved my logic flawed. Mr. Matthews cites my patch cable 'hat-hair' as an indicator that, just maybe, I've had it plugged in too long. Now that there's evidence, perhaps I can move on.
SIDE A:
Prelude to the Eye of Chaos
Master of the Hunt
Land's Edge
SIDE B:
The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale
Beasts of Devilboon
Gaseous Form
*Archival Symmetries 33 will see the release of 12 previously unreleased solo and collab EPs in total over the next year. Each installment will align (or at least will attempt to align) with the symmetrical date of each calendar month (sept 9, oct 10... jan 1, feb 2) from September 2015 (9/9) through August 2016 (8/8). Each edition will be available digitally through bandcamp as well as in handmade physical editions across a handsome selection of contemporary and archaic formats.
